Competency pathways for workplace hearing assessment
Train yourself or your team to conduct workplace hearing screening in accordance with AS/NZS 1269.4:2014 Occupational Noise Management – Auditory assessment standards.
AuCA offers two training pathways. Both combine flexible online learning with a dynamic two-day, in-person practical workshop delivered by experienced hearing professionals.
This intensive course is designed to give participants not only the competence, but also the confidence to conduct otoscopy, perform workplace hearing tests, and accurately analyse and present test results.

Course Delivery
A blended delivery mode utilising both online learning and an in-person workshop allows us to deliver engaging, in-depth learning modules, quizzes, practical instruction and assessments, while allowing participants to work through the online course material at their own pace.
Public and On-site Workshops
Public workshops are held in capital cities across Australia and New Zealand. We can also travel to your workplace to deliver on-site training for your team.

Course Structure
​
Option 1: Occupational Noise Audiometry Training
This option is best suited to people requiring practical workplace hearing-screening skills.
​
Participants who successfully complete the training and assessment requirements receive an AuCA Certificate of Completion outlining the competencies achieved.
​
Option 2: HLTAUD010 Assess and respond to occupational noise risk
This nationally recognised unit of competency is suitable for workers responsible for promoting and managing good hearing health in industrial and workplace settings.
Participants who successfully complete all learning and assessment requirements receive a Statement of Attainment.

Both options include:

Online learning completed approximately two to four weeks before the workshop

Ongoing support from an AuCA trainer
AuCA provides all equipment used during the workshops and there are no formal prerequisites for either option.
Participants completing Option 2 are also offered an induction by phone or Zoom and receive access to the additional resources and simulation activities required for the unit of competency.
