Janette is an Audiologist specialising in education of audiometrists and working in Aboriginal ear health. She has 39 years in the hearing health industry, beginning her career with NAL as a rehabilitative audiologist in the late eighties. She then moved into community health and teaching programs for both Audiometrists and Audiologists. She also has worked as a Paediatric Audiologist, Industrial Audiologist and in various ENT clinics.
Janette has been involved in the training of Audiometrists for many years beginning in 1992 and teaching on the Diploma of Audiometry and Cert IV in Audiometry since 2007. Her love of education led her to gain her Postgraduate Diploma in Adult Education. She enjoys creating experiential learning opportunities for students and finding engaging ways to impart knowledge online.
Janette is committed to enhancing the audiology industry working closely with the Australian College of Audiology (ACAud inc. HAASA) over a number of years as a Board Director and on various projects including the Education, and Clinical and Professional Excellence committees. Janette’s other passions - writing, editing and love of the written word - has led her to taking on the role of Editor of the industry magazine, ACCORD and in creating both fiction and non-fiction works. When not involved in teaching audiometry students, Janette works on her property on the South Coast of NSW, in beautiful Yuin country.
